You can connect one CRM per account. Where it's offered, the GoHighLevel card shows two ways in:

  • Option 1 - Recommended: Connect with GoHighLevel. You sign in to GoHighLevel and approve access. Nothing to copy or paste, and the connection renews itself.
  • Option 2 - Use a Private Integration Token instead. See Using a Private Integration Token below. It's folded under Option 1 and still works exactly as before.

If your card shows only the token form, signing in isn't available on your workspace yet - use the token.

To connect by signing in:

  1. Open Setup, go to CRM and open the GoHighLevel card.
  2. Click Connect with GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel opens and asks you to sign in - it uses its own email and password here, even if you normally sign in to GoHighLevel another way.
  3. Choose your sub-account and approve the access it asks for.
  4. You come back to Setup and the card runs its connection test. When it reads Connected, choose the pipeline to report on, as with a token.

If you sign in as a GoHighLevel agency user (for example, you run your own GoHighLevel agency), the card lists the sub-accounts the app is installed on and asks which one is this business. Only your own GoHighLevel's sub-accounts are listed.

For a client's sub-account: open the client's Setup, go to CRM and open the GoHighLevel card, then click Connect with GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel asks for its own email and password (not a Google sign-in), then which sub-account to install on. You come back to the client's Setup and the card tests the connection.

Connect your agency once, then pick from a list. Under Settings -> Integrations, the CRM section has a GoHighLevel (your agency) card (admins only). Click Connect with GoHighLevel and sign in as your agency, installing the app on your clients' sub-accounts. From then on, each client's GoHighLevel card offers Or choose one of your agency's sub-accounts - pick theirs and click Connect. Only your team sees that list: your client's own people, and Preview as client, never do.

Two rules keep clients apart:

  • A sign-in started from a client's card belongs to that client. If a client runs their own GoHighLevel agency and signs in as it, their sub-accounts are listed on their card only - never on another client's, and never as your agency's.
  • Your agency's connection only comes from Settings -> Integrations. Signing in there with a single sub-account instead of the agency is refused: "That sign-in was for a single sub-account, not your agency."

Once a client is connected, the card names the sub-account under Option 1 with a Change link, for when the wrong one was picked. Disconnect on the agency card stops new sub-accounts being offered; clients already connected keep working.

Using a Private Integration Token

Create a Private Integration (Settings -> Private Integrations) with Location-level access to Contacts, Opportunities and Pipelines, then paste the token and your Location ID and click Save & test.

  • The token must be a Private Integration Token with Location-level access (not Agency/Company level), and the Location ID must match that token's location.
  • Grant access to Contacts, Opportunities and Pipelines. A token without Opportunities access can connect but report zero deals.
  • For sales activity on the CRM tab (calls, texts, emails and time to first contact), also grant View Conversations and View Conversation Messages (conversations.readonly, conversations/message.readonly). Add View Users (users.readonly) so calls can be shown by team member name. These are optional: without them the CRM tab works as before and the sales activity section simply doesn't appear. To add them to an existing token, edit the Private Integration's scopes in GoHighLevel, then Save & test here.
  • After connecting, choose the pipeline to report on; if pipelines won't load, re-check the token's scopes.

When signing in doesn't finish

"The install was cancelled in GoHighLevel. Start again when you're ready."

  • Why: you left or declined the GoHighLevel screen. Fix: click Connect with GoHighLevel again.

"The install took too long or couldn't be verified. Start again from this card."

  • Why: the sign-in was left open too long, or finished in a different browser. Fix: start again from the card, in the same browser.

"That connected the agency account, not one sub-account. Start again and pick this client's sub-account."

  • Why: GoHighLevel returned an agency-level connection with no sub-account in it. Fix: start again and choose the sub-account.

"GoHighLevel approved the install but we couldn't finish it. Try again in a minute."

  • Why: GoHighLevel said yes but the last step failed. Fix: wait a minute and try again; if it keeps happening, use a Private Integration Token (Option 2).

Installed from the GoHighLevel marketplace instead of the card? The marketplace can't tell which workspace the install is for, so you land on a short guide. Finish by clicking Connect with GoHighLevel on the card itself.
