Setting up a new client

When you add a client, you land on their setup instead of the client list. It's the same short conversation a self-serve customer sees, worded for you, and it ends with inviting the client. Every step can be skipped; you can reopen it any time from Open setup on the client's page until they're live.

1. Their business

If you gave a website when adding the client, we read it in the background. Confirm the card with Looks right, or Edit anything first. No website? Type it and choose Read the website, or write a line for each yourself. What you confirm becomes the client's Brand Identity.

2. Their main goal

Pick what you agreed to deliver and give it a number. It shows on the client's Storyline tab for three months and can change any time.

3. Their tools

Tick the tools the client uses. For each one not connected yet, choose who connects it:

  • We connect - you connect it through your partner access from the client's page.
  • Ask the client - for access only the client can grant. When they first log in, they get the steps for each of these, filled in with your access email and partner IDs.

Ticks only steer this step: which connect buttons show, and what the client is asked to grant. Nothing is recorded about the client until a tool is actually connected.

4. Kickoff call

Upload notes or a transcript from the kickoff call. We read it as a meeting transcript, so every point waits for your review on the client's Brain page before it reaches their workspace. Approve them one by one: kickoff notes often mix client facts with internal remarks.

No notes from the call? Choose We don't have one and the step is done. Skip for now leaves it open, and it stays listed as outstanding on the client's page.

5. Invite the client

Add the people at the client who should see their dashboard. Each gets an email with a sign-in link, sent in your agency's name with replies going to your support email.

The first time they log in, they see "Your workspace is ready" with the business profile you built, and can choose Looks good or Suggest a change (which reaches you as a support request). They then see the access steps for any tools you marked Ask the client.
