Self-serve trial codes
Mint sign-up codes that let prospects start a time-limited trial instead of paying up front.
If you offer self-serve-style accounts, sign-up codes let a prospect start on a free trial rather than paying immediately. You generate and manage them under Settings - Sign-up codes (admin-only).
Creating a code
- Open Settings - Sign-up codes and create a new code.
- Optionally set an expiry date and how many times it can be used.
- Copy the code and share it with your prospect.
How a prospect uses it
The prospect enters the code on the sign-up page. Instead of being asked to pay up front, their account starts as a trial with the trial length the code grants. When the trial ends, the account moves to a pay-to-continue state and shows a billing notice until payment is made.
Managing codes
The codes screen shows each code's status - active, used (with a link to the account that redeemed it), or expired - and lets you revoke any that are still active.
Good to know
- Codes are per-agency: they apply to your workspace.
- An expired or fully-used code is rejected at sign-up, so you stay in control of who gets a trial.
- Pay-first is the default; codes are the exception you hand out deliberately.
