TikTok Ads reporting

Joined up to everything else.

TikTok Ads reports spend, reach and conversions for your campaigns. Its default attribution leans harder on views than any other major platform, which makes its self-reported return the most generous of the three big ad networks.

The connection

What we read from TikTok Ads.

Read-only, via one-click oauth. Nothing is created, edited or published back into your account.

Access requested: Partner access at Analyst level on the advertiser account.

Read it alone and it misleads you

View-through weighting is heavier here than on Meta or Google

TikTok's attribution settings credit conversions to people who watched without clicking, and the platform's format means a very large number of people watch without clicking. That inflates reported conversions relative to what any click-based system will ever confirm. Spend is also reported in the advertiser account currency, so a multi-currency account needs conversion applied before any blended figure means anything.

This is not a fault in TikTok Ads and it is not something a connector fixes. It is why a number from one platform should never be read on its own, and why the platforms never agree with each other.

Once it is joined up

Questions you can finally answer.

  • What TikTok actually contributed once measured against CRM revenue rather than view-through credit
  • How TikTok's reported return compares to Meta's and Google's on a like-for-like basis
  • Whether TikTok drives net new demand or reaches people your other channels already had

Every one of those needs your CRM connected as well, because TikTok Ads cannot see what closed. That usually means HubSpot, Salesforce or GoHighLevel.

Common questions

TikTok Ads reporting, answered

Why does TikTok claim more conversions than my site sees?

Because a large share are view-through: someone watched the ad, did not click, and converted later. Your analytics will attribute that sale to whatever channel they did click. Both records are accurate about different things, which is why the totals cannot be added together.

Does it handle multi-currency accounts?

Spend arrives in the advertiser account's currency and is converted before blending, because a blended return figure built from mixed currencies is meaningless.

Is TikTok worth measuring separately from Meta?

Yes, and it is one of the clearer cases where blended measurement changes the answer. TikTok's self-reported return tends to look strongest of the three; measured against closed revenue it often reorders.
