Google Ads reporting

Joined up to everything else.

Google Ads reports its own performance accurately and generously. The number that matters is not what it reports, but what closed in your CRM afterwards, and Google Ads cannot see that.

Read it alone and it misleads you

Yesterday's numbers will keep changing for weeks

Google Ads dates a conversion to the day of the CLICK, not the day of the conversion. A sale today gets added to a click from three weeks ago, so historical days keep rising after you have already reported them. If you export a month on the 1st and again on the 15th, the same month has different numbers, and neither export is wrong. Auto-applied recommendations can also change campaigns without anyone on your team touching them.

This is not a fault in Google Ads and it is not something a connector fixes. It is why a number from one platform should never be read on its own, and why the platforms never agree with each other.

Once it is joined up

Questions you can finally answer.

  • Your true cost per closed deal, not cost per platform-reported conversion
  • Which campaigns produce pipeline that actually closes versus leads that never progress
  • How much of the reported conversion count is also being claimed by Meta or GA4

Every one of those needs your CRM connected as well, because Google Ads cannot see what closed. That usually means HubSpot, Salesforce or GoHighLevel.

Common questions

Google Ads reporting, answered

Why do my Google Ads numbers change retroactively?

Because conversions are dated to the click that caused them. A purchase that happens today is attributed back to a click that may be weeks old, so past days keep moving upward. This is expected behaviour and the main reason a month-end export never matches a mid-month one.

Does it import my Google Ads conversion values?

Yes, where conversion tracking is set up. But we report against CRM revenue as well, because platform-reported conversion value reflects Google's attribution model rather than money received.

Can it see auto-applied recommendations?

We read campaign-level performance rather than the change history, so a silent auto-applied change shows up as a shift in results rather than as a logged event. If your account has auto-apply enabled it is worth turning off, for reasons that have nothing to do with us.
