HubSpot marketing reporting

Joined up to everything else.

HubSpot holds the outcome every ad platform is guessing at: whether the lead became money. Connecting it is what turns channel reporting into return reporting, and it is the single highest-value connection on this list.

CRM Connects via API key

The connection

What we read from HubSpot.

Read-only, via api key. Nothing is created, edited or published back into your account.

Access requested: A read-only private app token that you generate and can revoke at any time.

  • New contacts
  • Deals created
  • Deals won
  • Deal value
  • Revenue by channel
  • Top deals
  • UTM coverage across contacts

Read it alone and it misleads you

Lifecycle stage and deal stage are not the same thing, and teams mix them

HubSpot tracks a contact's lifecycle stage and a deal's pipeline stage separately, and they move independently. A contact can be marked Customer while the associated deal sits open, or a deal can close while the contact never leaves Lead. Report on the wrong one and your funnel maths silently breaks. Contact-level attribution reporting also sits behind higher Marketing Hub tiers, which is why many HubSpot accounts have revenue data but no attribution to apply to it.

This is not a fault in HubSpot and it is not something a connector fixes. It is why a number from one platform should never be read on its own, and why the platforms never agree with each other.

Once it is joined up

Questions you can finally answer.

  • True cost per closed deal by channel, not cost per form fill
  • Which channels create pipeline that closes and which create pipeline that stalls
  • Where UTM tagging is missing, and how much revenue is unattributable as a result

Common questions

HubSpot reporting, answered

What does connecting HubSpot change?

It closes the loop. Without a CRM, every return figure you have is the ad platform's own estimate of its own worth. With it, spend can be compared to revenue that actually arrived, which usually reorders which channel looks best.

Do you write anything back to HubSpot?

No. The connection is read-only. We read contacts, deals and their properties; we do not create, edit or move records.

What if our UTM tagging is inconsistent?

Common, and we measure it rather than hiding it. There is a UTM coverage view showing what proportion of contacts arrived with usable source data, because a return figure calculated on 40% coverage should be read very differently from one on 95%.
