Klaviyo reporting
Joined up to everything else.
Klaviyo reports what your email and SMS flows earned. It also attributes that revenue on its own terms, which means a large part of it is simultaneously being claimed by your ad platforms.

Klaviyo revenue double-counts against your ad platforms
Klaviyo attributes a purchase to itself if the buyer clicked or opened within its attribution window. Meta attributes the same purchase to itself under a 7-day click and 1-day view rule. Neither is wrong, and both are counting the same money. Add Klaviyo's attributed revenue to your ad platforms' and you can comfortably exceed what your business actually earned. Apple Mail Privacy Protection also inflates open rates to the point where open-based reporting is close to meaningless.
This is not a fault in Klaviyo and it is not something a connector fixes. It is why a number from one platform should never be read on its own, and why the platforms never agree with each other.
Once it is joined up
Questions you can finally answer.
- How much email revenue is genuinely incremental rather than shared with paid
- Which flows earn money versus which merely arrive before a purchase that was going to happen
- Total blended return with email counted once, not twice
Every one of those needs your CRM connected as well, because Klaviyo cannot see what closed. That usually means HubSpot, Salesforce or GoHighLevel.
Common questions
Klaviyo reporting, answered
Why does adding up my channels exceed my actual revenue?
Because several platforms attribute the same sale. Klaviyo claims it if there was a click or open in its window, Meta claims it under its own, Google claims it under a third. This is the single most common cause of a business appearing to be more profitable per channel than it is overall.
Are open rates worth reporting?
Barely, since Apple's Mail Privacy Protection pre-fetches images and marks messages opened whether or not anyone read them. We report opens because you expect to see them, but clicks and revenue are the figures worth deciding on.
Does it cover SMS as well as email?
Yes, where you run SMS through Klaviyo. Both appear as owned-channel performance against the same revenue picture.
