On the 29th we're putting the Agentcroft Insights on Product Hunt.
I've been sitting on that sentence for a while, so let me get it out properly. Eleven days from now, the thing we've spent months building goes up in front of a crowd that does not know us, does not owe us anything, and treats spotting overhyped products as a competitive sport. And I'm telling you now, ahead of time, partly because I'm excited and partly because saying it out loud makes it real and stops me quietly moving the date.
Here's the story, since a launch date on its own is just a date.
Agentcroft Insights didn't start as a product. It started as a frustration. I was tired of dashboards that couldn't remember anything, tools that showed you this month and greeted you like a stranger the next, that left all the remembering and connecting and noticing to you and whatever you'd scribbled down at the time. So we built the thing I wished existed. A brain that actually holds thousands of data points in context, watches your numbers month after month, and works out cause and effect a human mind is too busy to hold across a whole year.
And then we did the un-flashy thing. We didn't launch it. We ran it. Quietly, inside our own client work, for months, because I wanted it battle-tested on real businesses with real money on the line before I put it anywhere near a stage. That's the boring bit nobody posts about, the months where you fix the thing that only breaks on real data, the edge cases, the "why did it say that" moments. We wanted the version that goes up on the 29th to be the version that actually works, not the demo that falls over the second someone pokes it.
So why Product Hunt, and why make a whole thing of it.
Because our clients love us, and that's exactly the problem. They're biased. They already trust us, so their verdict, lovely as it is, doesn't tell me whether this stands up cold. A Product Hunt crowd is the opposite. Strangers, sceptics, other makers who've seen a hundred "AI brains" that turned out to be a chatbot in a trench coat. If Agentcroft Insights holds up in front of that room, it holds up. That's the test I actually want, even though it's the one that makes my palms sweat.
I don't know how the day will go. Genuinely no idea. We might climb, we might land mid-table, the comments might be generous or they might be savage. That uncertainty is sort of the point. You either built something people find useful or you didn't, and on the 29th there'll be evidence either way.
For now, this is just me telling you it's coming. No ask, no button to press yet. If the idea of a brain that remembers your whole business and tells you why the numbers moved sounds like something you've wanted, keep the 29th somewhere in the back of your head. And if you can't wait, the demo's already live on real data, go and have a poke at it yourself.
Eleven days. I'll see you on the other side of it.
